Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
Acceptance
By creating an account and using GPCGuard, you agree to these terms. If you are using GPCGuard on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
Service description
GPCGuard provides API-layer GPC (Global Privacy Control) signal handling and decision-record infrastructure, including signal detection, guard-chain validation, and structured decision records. The service supports decision, evidence, and related compliance workflows. It is not a guarantee of legal compliance for any specific jurisdiction or context. You are responsible for ensuring your use of GPCGuard satisfies applicable legal requirements.
Acceptable use
You may use GPCGuard only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these terms. You may not use GPCGuard to circumvent privacy regulations, deceive end users about their privacy rights, or process signals for sites you do not control or are not authorized to configure.
DPA requirement
Each site registered in GPCGuard requires acceptance of the per-site Data Processing Agreement, or coverage under a separately executed agreement, before the embed snippet and signal recording are activated. This gate is enforced at the platform level and cannot be bypassed.
The applicable DPA or separately executed agreement governs the service's role in that workflow, including where GPCGuard is acting as the customer's processor or service provider.
Service availability
GPCGuard is provided on an "as is" basis during early access. We do not guarantee uptime, availability, or specific performance characteristics. The guard chain is fail-closed by design: if GPCGuard cannot validate a signal request, it defaults to the deny outcome.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GPCGuard's liability for any claim arising from use of the service is limited to the amounts paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim. GPCGuard is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
